Bee Happy Sew Along - Week 3!!

Welcome to Week 3 of our Lori Holt Throwback Sew Along for 2022 - Bee Happy!!  We get to make some fun blocks and one of them is perfect for our holiday week!

Please note:  Lori originally did this Sew Along in 2017.  Some of the fabric that she used at that time is no longer available.  Fabrics in your kit were provided based on the Bee Happy Booklet fabric requirements.  As you follow Lori's blog throughout the Sew Along some of the fabrics you see in her pictures may be different than the fabrics that we are using.

Here's our schedule:

This week we are working on these blocks:

  • Mason Jar Block
  • Bluebird Block
  • Flag Block

Lori gives all the instructions you need through her blog.  Click HERE for her Week 3 blog post where she provides instruction for the Mason Jar Block and the Bluebird Block.  Click HERE for instruction on the Flag Block.

First up...the Mason Jar Block:

This one was so fun to make because it is so darn cute!  There is so much detail in it!  For mine, I added a button to detract from the poor embroidery on my red ribbon for the Honey Jar.  Also, instead of embroidering the red lace, I had some small vintage trim on hand that I used for that detail.

Next up...the cute little Bluebird Block:

This is the block I will be working on during our Bee Happy LIVE this week!

And...the perfect block to make this week...the Flag Block:

This block is so cute!  Of course my little one had to help with some letters!  😄

I hope you can join me for our Bee Happy/Farmhouse Star LIVE on Wednesday, 7/6 at 7:30pm CT!  I had so much fun sewing with you during our LIVE last week!  Click HERE to join.

I am looking forward to seeing your blocks this week!  Please use #beehappysewalong and #happylittlestitchshop and tag Happy Little Stitch Shop and Lori Holt!

Have fun and 🐝😁!!

  • I loved making the flag and mason jars. I really love the idea of using rick rack or the lace. Wish I would have thought of that before I embroidered it on. It’s ok though, makes it more personable. More pictures to post.

  • Angela, I love your mason jar block! It’s so cute. I may have to make one to hang in my kitchen.
